Every Saturday in April, we’re holding open houses at our nature-focused facilities. Drop in to visit our sites, enjoy activities, and meet our dedicated staff.

Each site will offer a variety of FREE activities that may include:
• Meet Park Naturalists
• Free giveaways (while supplies last)
• Nature hikes
• Nature crafts
• Animal feeding demonstrations
• Free pontoon boat tours (Patuxent & Bladensburg Waterfront Parks)
• Birds of prey program (Watkins & Clearwater Nature Center)
• Free bike rentals (Bladensburg Waterfront Parks)
• Barn animal meet-and-great (Old Maryland Farm)

Move your feet and lift your mood! Join the Club 300 on their weekly walk at scenic Patuxent River Park led by a park naturalist.

Patuxent River Park Meet at: Picnic Pavilion – 2nd entrance to the park 16000 Croom Airport Rd, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772

Cycling is a full body and mind exercise! Join the Park Rangers and the Cycling Seniors Cycle Club as we ride the Paint Branch Trail. This ride will start at Lake Artemesia and we will ride to the Aquatic Gardens approximately 14 miles round trip. This trail is paved and appropriate for intermediate to advance cyclists. Must bring your own bicycle and helmet. A waiver of liability will need to be signed.

Move your feet and lift your mood. Join the Club 300 as we walk the beautiful Anacostia River Trail from the Bladensurg Waterfront Park to the Aquatic Gardens.

Come help the staff at Old Maryland Farm prepare the garden beds for the growing season. Participants may help with weeding, planting seeds, and seedlings.

Journey with us for a scenic paddle into Western Branch on the Patuxent River! We will meet at Mt. Calvert Historic Site – 16801 Mt Calvert Rd, Upper Marlboro, MD. Dress for the weather. Hat, sunscreen, and water recommended. Kayaks, paddles, and PFDs provided.

Move your feet and lift your mood. Join the Club 300 at Fairwood Community Park. After the walk, gather at the pavilion for the annual Club 300 birthday party celebration with live music and a birthday treat. Bring a blanket or lawn chair to enjoy the show!

For the active senior! Join a naturalist on a fitness hike, while looking for wildlife and local plant life. Please wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather.
