Fee Assistance

M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George’s County provides fun and engaging programs and activities for the public regardless of financial status! The Fee Assistance Program allows Prince George’s County residents with financial hardship the opportunity to experience programs and services at a reduced rate. Discounts range from 20% to 90%, depending on the level of need as determined by the Federal Poverty Guidelines.

Eligibility

Fee Assistance is available only to families who reside in Prince George’s County. If you are a resident and are unsure of your financial eligibility, use our Fee Assistance Calculator to estimate what level of assistance your family would receive. You can also find out which tax forms and documentation you’ll need to submit along with your application.

Programs Eligible for Assistance

Exclusions

Fee assistance may be used for all registrations except:

  • Amusement park tickets
  • Employee childcare programs
  • Facility and equipment rentals (including community center meeting rooms, birthday parties, studio space, tennis/racquetball courts, park structures, picnic kits, etc.)
  • Fees for materials, supplies, and equipment for courses, programs, and workshops
  • Point of sale admissions (for performances, drop-in programs, private lessons, etc.)
  • Programs sponsored by Recreation Councils or Boys and Girls Clubs
  • Programs where the total fee does not exceed $35
  • Sports team registrations and user fees
  • Summer Playgrounds and Xtreme Teen Centers
  • Trips and excursions
Eligible Programs

Most programs with a total fee over $35 are eligible including child care, day camps, memberships, and many other programs covering all ages. However, there are important exceptions including group registrations, trips and excursions, leagues, and other select programs.

  • Aquatics memberships (some exclusions apply)
  • Community center memberships (1 year)
  • Day camps
  • Fitness memberships (3 months or 1 year)
  • Many recreation programs including Zumba, gymnastics, art, water aerobics, and much more (if priced over $35)
  • Most child care (Kids’ Care, Morning Care, Pre-School, Pre-Teen Times, etc.)
  • Group swim lessons

Turn In Your Forms

You can turn your forms into your local community center.  If you don’t know where one is, please use our facility finder.

Please note that you will still need to pay a 10% deposit toward course fees.

Available Scholarships

Kids to Camp Scholarship

As of June 7th 2024, registration has closed. Please check back in January 2025 for scholarship opportunities for summer camps.

Thanks to the generous support from our community, the Department of Parks and Recreation is offering unique camp experiences through the Parks and Recreation Foundation’s Kids to Camp Scholarship.

This is a need-based scholarship that allows Prince George’s County residents with financial hardship the opportunity to send their children to a M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George’s County camp.

This summer let your child’s imagination come to life as a chef, Olympian, gymnast, or even a robotics engineer! M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation offers assorted camps that fit the imagination of your child.

Qualified applicants will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. Once completed applications are submitted, they will be reviewed, scholarship awards will be determined and families will be contacted regarding application status. All applicants must agree to fulfill all of the scholarship recipient expectations as listed below. This scholarship is available for Prince George’s County residents who wish to attend a 2024 summer camp/program through the Prince George’s Department of Parks and Recreation. Applicants must designate the camp(s) they are applying for when submitting an application.

Scholarship Recipient Expectations:

  • Exhibit good sportsmanship throughout all PGPR activities
  • Agree to participate in promotional material which may include photography
