M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation to Operate Emergency Warming Centers on Monday, January 26

As dangerously cold temperatures persist following the weekend snow emergency, The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC), Department of Parks and Recreation in Prince George’s County will continue operating emergency warming centers on Monday, January 26, to provide safe, heated spaces for residents in need.

Warming Centers Open Monday, January 26:

These locations are available for individuals and families without heat, those experiencing homelessness, or anyone needing relief from the extreme cold. For additional warming center accommodations, visit princegeorgescountymd.gov.

Residents are encouraged to limit travel when possible, check on neighbors, especially older adults and individuals with disabilities, and take precautions to prevent cold‑related injuries. The Department will continue monitoring weather conditions and provide updates as needed.
