1. What is Rock the Boat?
Rock the Boat is an end-of-summer, back-to-school dinner cruise exclusively for teens aboard the Spirit of Washington, featuring dinner, music, dancing, and waterfront views.
2. When is the event?
The event will be held on Tuesday, August 11. Participants will depart from the designated community center bus location at 4:30 pm with a 10:30 pm pick-up from same location.
3. Who can attend?
This event is open to youth ages 13-17 who are Prince George’s County residents.
4. How much does it cost?
The cost is $50 per participant. Admission includes transportation, dinner, and access to all onboard activities.
5. Are refunds available?
No. All registrations are final and no refunds will be issued.
6. When can I register?
Registration is open June 1 through July 31. Sales are limited. Only one registration per participant.
7. How do I register?
Register through your local community center or online at pgparksdirect.com. Please use registration code: SPD-SPEC-GA-20260811
8. Do I have to have a Parks Direct account to register?
Yes, participants must have a Parks Direct account and be a Prince George’s County resident in order to register. You can acquire a Parks Direct account online or at your local community center.
9. Is transportation provided?
Yes. Transportation is provided by bus only. All participants must travel with the group to and from the event. No drop-offs or pick-ups from the dock location.
You will select your pick-up location during registration. Choose from:
Seat Pleasant Activity Center (5720 Addison Rd, Seat Pleasant, MD)
Marlow Heights Community Center (2800 St Clair Dr, Temple Hills, MD)
Tucker Road Community Center (1771 Tucker Rd, Fort Washington, MD)
Rollingcrest Chillum Community Center (6120 Sargent Rd, Hyattsville, MD)
10. Can parents or guardians drop participants off at the boat dock?
No. Parent/guardian drop-off at the boat dock is not permitted. Participants must arrive and depart using the provided group bus transportation.
11. What time and location is bus pick-up?
Bus pick-up times and designated locations will be shared to all registered participants one week before trip via the email listed on account registration. Please ensure your email is up to date.
12. Is there a dress code?
Yes. Dressy-casual attire is required, and strictly enforced.
13. What happens if a participant is not dressed appropriately?
Participants who are not in proper attire will not be permitted to board the bus. No refunds will be issued for participants wearing improper attire.
14. What clothing is not allowed?
Jeans, crop tops, Crocs footwear, pajamas, and inappropriate attire are not permitted.
15. Can participants bring bags?
Large bags and duffel bags are not allowed on the bus or boat.
