M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation Announces 2026 Hispanic Heritage Month Events and Programs
RIVERDALE, Md. – M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation in Prince George’s County announces the official lineup of events and programs in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month 2026. From September 13 through October 15, the Department will host a variety of family-friendly events celebrating the history, culture, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans, including live music, traditional dance performances, art exhibitions, and more.
“The Department of Parks and Recreation is proud to celebrate the diverse cultures and traditions that make Prince George’s County a vibrant community,” said Darius A. Stanton, Director of M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George’s County. “Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to honor the histories and achievements of Hispanic and Latino residents while bringing our community together through meaningful cultural experiences and celebrations rooted in paz y amor (peace and love).”
Hispanic and Latino residents play a vital role in the Prince George’s County community. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Latinos make up 21.2% of the county’s population and represent one of its fastest-growing demographic groups. Hispanic Heritage Month offers an opportunity to recognize the community’s cultural, social, and economic impact on the county.

Join us for a free, family-friendly event celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month! The “celebración” will include an art exhibition and public reception displaying the works of artist Catherine Rupan Mapp, the unveiling of the 2026 Hispanic Heritage Month poster by a local high school student artist, live music from Pablo Antonio y La Firma and DJ Chris Styles, dance demonstrations and lessons from Salsa with Sylvia, arts and crafts and face painting for children, and light refreshments.
