Inclement Weather Prompts Early Closures Saturday, Full Closures January 25–26

M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George’s County Announces January 24 Early Closures and January 25 Facility Closures Due to Inclement Weather

RIVERDALE, Md. – Due to inclement weather conditions affecting the region, The Maryland–National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC), Department of Parks and Recreation in Prince George’s County, announces Department offices and facilities will close early on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 6:00 pm, and remain closed on Sunday and Monday, January 25 and 26, 2026.

The safety of our community members and staff is our top priority. Residents and visitors are encouraged to stay safe, limit unnecessary travel, and take appropriate precautions during the weather event.

Effective Saturday, January 24 at 6:00 pm, the following actions will be taken:

All Department facilities and programs will close at 6:00 pm
All Department facilities will be closed on January 25 and 26, unless otherwise noted.

Parking Advisory and Public Assistance Requested

We kindly ask for the community’s help during this weather event by avoiding parking or leaving vehicles at Department facilities. Please refrain from leaving cars overnight or after dusk, including at electric vehicle charging stations. Keeping our lots clear allows our snow teams to work safely and efficiently, helping us reopen spaces for everyone as soon as possible.

Warming Centers

Warming Centers are open and available to be used by the community as a drop-in service offered at designated community centers throughout the County during normal operating hours:

Cedar Heights Community Center –Seat Pleasant
Glenarden Community Center –Glenarden
Harmony Hall Regional Center – Fort Washington

John E. Howard Senior Activity Center – Capitol Heights
Kentland Community Center – Landover
Langley Park Community Center – Hyattsville
Largo/Kettering/Perrywood Community Center
Laurel-Beltsville Senior Activity Center – Laurel
Oakcrest Community Center – District Heights
Prince George’s Sports & Learning Complex – Landover
Rollingcrest-Chillum Community Center – Chillum
Southern Area Aquatics and Recreation Complex – Brandywine
Southern Regional Technology Recreation Center – Fort Washington
Suitland Community Center – Forestville
Temple Hills Community Center – Temple Hills
