Main & Lab Galleries Artist and Curator Talks - Being and Innervisions: Dialogues in Self-Portraiture
Tuesday, November 15, 2022
Teens & 18+
Main Gallery: Being-Three visionary artists, Deborah Renee Grayson, James Terrell, and William Watson each approach the depiction of portraiture and figuration in dramatically different ways, through medium, color, and scale. Though each of these artists’ vibrant perspective of black bodies has a unique point of view, the collective work positions the viewer firmly within the extraordinary world around us and the environment we live in.?
Lab Gallery: Innervisions: Dialogues in Self-Portraiture: Brentwood Arts Exchange is proud to announce the second in a series of exhibitions led by instructing Curator Irene Clouthier, featuring emerging curators to conceive and compose intriguing shows that include artists in the Washington, DC region. This exhibition is curated by Helen Criales, who has invited a group of artists that examines intimacy and identity through the personal gaze of the self-portrait.
