National Gold Medal Winner for Excellence
Prince George's County has the best parks and recreation agency in the country! The M-NCPPC Prince George's County Department of Parks and Recreation is the only six-time national Gold Medal winner for excellence in parks and recreation management in the nation. Eligible agencies must be Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA) accredited, meeting more than 160 standards.
In addition, the Department of Parks and Recreation and its staff have won numerous other prestigious competitions.
