Purpose
The Volunteer Services Office and the Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for assisting staff in the marketing, recruitment, training, placement and recognition of volunteers for the Department of Parks and Recreation. The Office houses one full-time career professional who is responsible for developing the overall volunteer management program settings standards, policies and procedures for staff and volunteers to follow. The Office receives phone and e-mail inquiries daily. Since January 2005, this office has sent out nearly 700 volunteer applications to potential volunteers.
