Sassy Seniors
 |
| Wii champions Eleanor Blake, at left, and Doris Comfort are interviewed by a WTOP reporter following their victories. |
Seniors from Langley Park Senior Activity Center in Hyattsville were invited to play in a first ever Senior Nintendo Wii championship on June 26. These Langley Park seniors are serious about, and very good at this video-oriented action game. Doris Comfort won 1st place and Eleanor Blake won 2nd place.
The Wii players at LPSC call themselves the Langley Park Sassy Seniors and have fun, as they say, "playing Wii games for Wii-habilitation." Wii practice is Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, and they play against each other after warm-ups. This is a FREE activity for senior age 60 or better, open to Prince George's and Montgomery County residents. The Langley Park Senior Center is open Monday-Friday from 9 am-2 pm.
For information on how to get involved call 301-408-4343.
