Senior Programs

A varied program of activities — including social events, day trips, health fairs, fitness programs, and classes — is offered at the four senior activity centers as well as all community centers. Senior center staff collaborate with County agencies to provide many services for the County's aging population including transportation to and from the centers and hot meals. Contact the respective sites to obtain membership details or for a complete schedule of events.

We offer all kinds of classes for seniors! Browse through the assortment of classes in SMARTlink to find something just right for you. (Tip: First, pick a category in sign up! to browse, and then narrow your search by age group.)

Have some time on your hands? Want to give something back to your community? Need a part-time job? Join M-NCPPC as a volunteer or find a place on our staff. We have something for everyone!

Sassy Seniors

Wii champions Eleanor Blake, at left, and Doris Comfort are interviewed by a WTOP reporter following their victories.
Seniors from Langley Park Senior Activity Center in Hyattsville were invited to play in a first ever Senior Nintendo Wii championship on June 26. These Langley Park seniors are serious about, and very good at this video-oriented action game. Doris Comfort won 1st place and Eleanor Blake won 2nd place.

The Wii players at LPSC call themselves the Langley Park Sassy Seniors and have fun, as they say, "playing Wii games for Wii-habilitation." Wii practice is Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, and they play against each other after warm-ups. This is a FREE activity for senior age 60 or better, open to Prince George's and Montgomery County residents. The Langley Park Senior Center is open Monday-Friday from 9 am-2 pm.

For information on how to get involved call 301-408-4343.
