"Hot Wash" Meeting
The Prince George's County Boys & Girls Club will hold its final "Hot Wash" meeting before the start of the 2008 football season on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at 7 pm in the Sports & Learning Complex, Bluebird Room. The purpose of the meeting is to review the past football season and talk about the good, the bad and the ugly of the program with the intent of improving it for the upcoming season. Representatives from Anne Arundel and Charles County will be there to discuss their football programs and perhaps some joint efforts. We hope everyone who has an interest in the Prince George's County football program will attend. We want to improve our football program and the more comments and suggestions we receive the more we can work to make it better. Some topics to be discussed:
- Weight and age allowances
- Classification of football teams
- Schedules and changes
- Football clinics and Coaches Certification
- Field Allocations
- Background Checks
If you are interested in improving the PGCBGC football program, please attend this meeting. Please notify all coaches of this meeting. Any suggestions you want to bring up and want to place on the agenda should be forwarded to me at calvin.massie@pgparks.com. Questionnaire, Rosters, Membership List and PAYMENT for the 65 thru 125 lb. Teams due in Boys/Girls Club Office
August 16
Weigh-ins for 65 thru 125 lb teams. Times and places to be announced later. At least 75% of team members must be weighed in at this time.
August 11-Sept. 5
I.D. and Birth Certificate check for 65 thru125 lb. Rosters at the Boys/Girls Club Office, 4325 Forbes Blvd. Suite A, Lanham.
All information must be brought into this office. A child will only be put on a roster if he/she is totally cleared. Call Linda (301-918-8116) for appointment.
August 22
FINAL DATE TO DROP/ADD TEAMS from 65 thru 125 lb leagues. Any Club dropping or adding teams from a league after August 22, 2008 will be charged $150 per team. NO EXCEPTIONS.
August 23
“Special Weigh-in” for 65 thru 125 lb. Location and Time to Be Announced.
A child who was overweight at the August 16th weigh-in may re-weigh.
There will be a mandatory $10 charge for players with laminated yellow cards & $20 for players not having yellow laminated cards - PAYABLE BY CASH or MONEY ORDER ONLY- NO CHECKS!! When the child is weighed in he/she must have a current photo. NO EXCEPTIONS.
August 25
ROSTER CLOSE DATE FOR 65 THRU 125 LB TEAMS FOR SEASONAL TRANSFERS NO EXCEPTIONS.

LABOR DAY - OFFICE CLOSED

Schedules for 65 thru 125 lb. leagues are available in the Boys & Girls Club office for pick-up after 1 PM by Commissioners ONLY.
Commissioners may appoint someone to pick-up for them if necessary BUT THEY ARE NOT MAILED OR FAXED.
September 5
Roster close date for 65 thru 125 lb. teams. NO PLAYERS MAY BE ADDED THEREAFTER..
September 6

September 9

Special weigh-ins for the 65 thru 125 lb. teams - Times & Places - To Be Announced. Players weighed in on this date are INELIGIBLE to play in their team’s first two scheduled games. No Charge.
September 18
Schedules for 150 lb leagues are available in the Boys/Girls Office for pick-up after 1 pm by Commissioners ONLY. Commissioners may appoint someone to pick up for them if necessary BUT THEY ARE NOT MAILED OR FAXED.
September 19
Rosters close date for 150 lb teams. No players may be added thereafter.
September 20
150 lb. LEAGUE BEGIN PLAY.
