Classes and Registration Programs


You can view our classes online in SMARTlink Internet or read about them in Your Guide. Printed four times a year (May, August, December and March), it features a comprehensive listing of classes, programs and activities. If you are a SMARTlink customer, you will automatically receive this publication in the mail. Or, print out, complete, and mail in the FREE Subscription Application. Copies of the Guide will still be available at all County community centers & facilities, as well as at County libraries.

General registration information for Summer 2008 Courses:

  • There are now four ways to register for parks and recreation classes and activities. See below!
  • Classes and activities will display in SMARTlink beginning May 1, 2008.
  • Some classes fill quickly; register early.
  • Payment is due at the time of registration.
  • A separate form must be completed for each person/class.
  • Summer registration for county residents begins Monday, May 11, 2008.
  • Summer Non-resident registration begins Monday, May 18, 2008.

  • Wayne K. Curry Sports & Learning Center priority registration for Impact Area (IA) residents begins on Monday, May 4. To receive the benefit of early registration, Impact Area residents must register in person at that facility only.


4 ways to register!

1. Use SMARTlink Internet for quick and easy registration online at www.pgparks.com. Just click on the SMARTlink logo wherever you see it. On-line registration for Summer classes begins at 7 am Monday, May 11, for Prince George's County residents, and on Monday, May 18, for residents of other jurisdictions.

2. Use SMARTlink Touch-Tone for quick and easy registration by telephone. Call 301-583-BOOK (2665) beginning at 7 am on Monday, May 11, if you are a Prince George's County resident, or beginning on Monday, May 18 if you live outside the county.

3. Register by mail. Just download, print, and complete the Registration Form, and mail it to the appropriate address listed below. Mail will be opened and registrations processed beginning Monday, May 11 (for Prince George's County residents), or Monday, May 18 (for non-residents). Please note: if you have not set up a SMARTlink account, you will be charged the non-resident rate.

4. Register in person. Drop by any of our staffed Department of Parks and Recreation facilities during regular business hours beginning Monday, May 11 (Prince George's County residents) / Monday, May 18 (for non-residents) and our friendly Parks and Recreation staff will take your registration and payment. Do not attempt to register at school sites. Please note: if you have not set up a SMARTlink account, you will be charged the non-resident rate.

SMARTlink activities are sorted first by category and then by age group
    Pre-Schoolers: primarily for children not yet in school
    Children & Youth: school-aged children through age 13
    Teens & Pre-teens: ages 10-17
    Adults & Young Adults: ages 13 & up
    Seniors: ages 60 & up
    Families: primarily for families
    Mixed Ages: a mixture of age groups
