Summer Day Camps, Summer Playgrounds and Summer Xtreme Teen Centers Information

Ready to plan your child's summer activities? The M-NCPPC Department of Parks and Recreation's Summer Programs offer you plenty of options. There's so much to choose from - more than 250 camp sessions, 104 summer playgrounds and 18 summer teen centers - throughout Prince George's County. You'll wish summer lasted longer! SMARTlink Numbers
You will need your Family PIN and Client Barcode in order to complete any registration. If you've forgotten your numbers and if you have an e-mail address in your account information, you can receive your numbers by e-mail. Click on the "I Forgot my Access Numbers" link on the Your Account tab. Your Client Barcode and Family PIN will be sent to the e-mail address for your account's Main Contact. The system only e-mails the Main Contact's Customer Barcode and the Family PIN, as this is all that is required to access your family account. If you do not have an e-mail address in your account information, please call the Customer Service Help Desk at 301-699-CALL (2255) or send an e-mail to help4smartlink@pgparks.com. PLEASE NOTE: All Summer Day Camps at Brentwood Arts Center and all Explorer Camp sessions at Fort Washington Forest Community Center have been cancelled.

NEW! Sports Camps added for Summer 2008 at Glenarden Community Center, AND Sports and Dance Camps at Hillcrest Heights Community Center. Visit SMARTlink to browse camps and other programs.

Additionally, the following facilities are closed for renovations and will not offer camps: South Bowie and Upper Marlboro Community Centers.

Day Camp Registration Information
Prince George's County residents now may register beginning at 9 am, Saturday, April 12. Residents of other jurisdictions may register beginning at 9 am, Saturday, April 19. You can register for day camps in a number of ways:

Register by Internet - go to www.pgparks.com, click on the SMARTlink logo in the upper left corner. Have your SMARTlink numbers and a VISA or MasterCard credit or debit card available. You may pay in full or make a non-refundable, non-transferable $50 deposit and schedule the remaining payments.

Register by automated, touch-tone telephone - Have your SMARTlink numbers and a VISA or MasterCard credit or debit card available. Call 301-583-BOOK (2665) and follow the prompts. You must pay in full when you register via SMARTlink telephone. Scheduled payment options are not available by telephone registration.

Register in person any of our staffed recreation centers - bring your SMARTlink numbers, payment (cash, check, or a VISA or MasterCard credit or debit card), and our friendly staff will assist you.

Register by mail - registration via mail will not be opened until 9 am, Monday, March 17. Simply fill out the registration form found in the 2008 Summer Programs brochure ort download any of our forms beginning February 1. Mail completed form and payment (no cash) to the address on the form.

Extended Care Registration Information
Registration for Prince George's County residents only begins at 9 am, Monday, March 17. Registration for residents of other jurisdictions begins Saturday, March 22. Every camper is guaranteed a space in extended care if it is offered for the day camp. You can register for extended care by Internet, by mail or in person. Extended care registration is not available by telephone. You are required to pay in full for extended care - schedule payments are not available for any extended care sessions.

Additional Information
  • Maryland State Law requires that ALL required health forms must be completed and returned to the program location prior to the start date of the program. All forms may be downloaded from www.pgparks.com beginning February 1.
  • The Department of Parks and Recreation encourages and supports the participation of individuals with disabilities. Register at least a minimum of two weeks in advance of the program start date to request and receive disability accommodations for Summer Camps and Extended Care programs. Therapeutic recreation programs are open to Prince George's County residents only. All disability accommodation requests for camps must be indicated on the Participant Profile Form and noted on SMARTlink accounts, and requested at least two weeks prior to the start date of the camp.
  • All camps, summer playgrounds and summer teen centers will be closed Friday, July 4.
  • For additional information, policies and important payment dates, please see the 2008 Summer Programs brochure available on line beginning February 1, and distributed to all M-NCPPC community centers in Prince George's County.
  • Summer Playgrounds/Summer Xtreme Teen Centers Information
    Registration for Summer Playgrounds and Summer Xtreme Teen Centers (for Prince George's County residents only) begins Tuesday, April 1.
