2010 EVENT CALENDAR

Saturday, February 6, Tours at 12 noon, 1, 2 & 3 pm
Life on the Plantation: African American History
Join us for a special tour that focuses on the daily lives of the slaves who lived and worked at Marietta Plantation. No reservations necessary. Regular tour admission price.

Saturday, February 13, Tours at 5, 6 & 7 pm
Famous Couples of Marietta
Treat your sweetheart to a candlelight tour high-lighting famous couples who lived at or visited Marietta. Program includes a complimentary glass of champagne or punch and delectable desserts. No reservations necessary.
Fee: $8/person, $15/couple

Saturday, March 6, 12 noon – 4 pm
7th MD Company A U.S. Drill Day
Civil War reenactors demonstrate military drills, weaponry and tacticals. Free admission to the demonstration. No reservations necessary. Regular tour fee for house tour.

Saturday, March 27, 1 pm
First Ladies Tea
Celebrate Women’s History Month with a special tea featuring the favorite dishes of First Ladies. Special guests include First Ladies Martha Washington and Dolley Madison (a close friend of Mrs. Duvall).
Reservations and payment required in advance.
Fee: $22/person

Saturday, April 17 & Sunday, April 18, 11 am – 4 pm
Marching Through Time
Spend the day at our living history encampment that encompasses reenactors from Bronze Age Celts through the 20th century Gulf War. Visitors will experience camp and domestic life, military drills, period merchants, crafts, food and more. NEW this year: hands-on childrens’ activities. No pets allowed. Free parking at Glenn Dale Community Center with continuous shuttle service to the event.
No reservations necessary
Fee: $5/person, Free/4 & under

Saturday, May 8, 2 pm
Mother Goose Tea Children ages 6 & up are invited to the Mother Goose Tea featuring characters from their favorite nursery rhymes, flavored teas, delicious desserts, and nursery rhyme-inspired fun! Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Reservations and payment required in advance.
Fee: $12 Resident, $15 Non-Resident

Sunday, May 9, 12 noon – 4 pm
Free Mother’s Day Tours Complimentary tours of the Museum to mothers and grandmothers when accompanied by a paying child or grandchild.
No reservations necessary.
Regular tour admission price.

Sunday, June 20, 12 noon – 4 pm
Free Father’s Day Tours Complimentary tours of the Museum to fathers and grandfathers when accompanied by a paying child or grandchild.
