This July we’re celebrating 30 years of Park and Recreation Month and the enduring importance of parks and recreation. From the start, parks were created to serve the people—to give them a place to appreciate nature, exercise, socialize and have fun. Let's keep this mission alive!
Lake Arbor Jazz Festival
Spend a day on the lawn taking in the soothing sounds of jazz! Featuring some of the region's most accomplished and emerging jazz artists! As these talent musicians take the stage, this day will sure delight. July 11; Lake Arbor Community Center Grounds.

Blue Star Museums Program
Blue Star Museums
Check out the Blue Star Museums Program, which honors active duty military personnel and their families. It provides FREE museum admission to participating museums now until September 7. Various M-NCPPC museums.

Yoga Yoga in the Parks
Join us for FREE outdoor yoga classes in the parks! Learn basic yoga techniques and how to free your mind, body, and spirit in this popular fitness activity for all ages. Classes are in session and run until early September.

M-NCPPC was recently reaccredited by the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA), receiving the maximum score in every available category during the 2014 National Recreation and Parks Association Congress in Charlotte, NC. CAPRA recognizes park & recreation agencies for excellence in operation and service.
