CRISTAL TORIBIO'S CONNECTIONS PAINTINGS ON DISPLAY AT HUNTINGTON COMMUNITY CENTER

A collection of paintings by artist Cristal Toribio titled Connections is now on display through April 30, 2008 at the Art Gallery at Huntington Community Center, 13022 8th Street, Bowie, MD 20720.

The walls are adorned with a collection of colorful, intuitive and interesting paintings done by Toribio. "I am driven to investigate the world within, around and beyond us. The human body offers a boundless landscape to investigate and explore our experiences. There is a radiant beauty in the physical body not only visually, but also through metaphor and process. Our wiring, connective tissues, and movement of fluids offers limitless inspiration for my processes," says Toribio.

Toribio graduated from St. Mary's College of Maryland with a Bachelors of Art in the arts. Her concentration at the time was in sculpture, with intent to pursue a Masters degree in art therapy. Toribio maintains her alliance with St. Mary's College where she instructs both yoga and cycling. Toribio is currently working towards her Master's at the Tai Sophia Institute in the Applied Healing Arts.
