LEARN AVIATION DYNAMICS AND HISTORY
The College Park Aviation Museum is offering speakers and activity during April 2008 that will teach you about aviation dynamics and history.
On Sunday, April 13, at 2 pm, author and illustrator Elizabeth Waugaman will present Follow Your Dreams, the Story of Alberto Santos-Dumont. Santos-Dumont, aviator and inventor, designed and flew both lighter than air and heavier than air flying machines. Dr. Waugaman will be available to sign her bilingual children's book on the life and adventures of Alberto Santos-Dumont. The fee is regular museum admission of $4 for adults, $3 for seniors, and $2 for children.
On Friday, April 25, at 7 pm join Rear Admiral Edward L. "Whitey" Feightner USN Ret., and Colonel David Thwaites USAF Ret., as they discuss their experiences as fighter aces and answer questions. The fee is $5 per participant.
On Saturday, April 26, at 1 pm teens are invited to explore the history of College Park Airport and test their skills at a variety of aviation-themed activities. Try your hand at dropping bombs, delivering the mail, building paper airplanes, and more. Complete all of the activities and qualify to win prizes. This activity is for ages 13-17. The fee is $4 per participant includes museum admission.
