Gary Irby teaches art and directs art programs in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. He received a Ph.D. in art education from the University of Maryland in College Park and an M.F.A. from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Irby has widely served as lecturer, instructor, and artist in residence at numerous schools. His own artwork has been featured in 25 solo exhibitions. He lives in Adelphi, Md.
