Waterford Village and Winery
Discover the historic village of Waterford, a National Historic Landmark. Step back in time with a tour of the village, first settled in 1733 by Pennsylvania Quakers, Amos & Mary Janney. By 1800 it had become the thriving center of a community of small farms and by 1840, many of Waterford's buildings were already in place: grain, saw and fulling mills, a tannery, furniture factories, a blacksmith shop, tavern, hotel, and a confectionery. The homes, businesses & the rolling fields that surround the village today look much as they did then. Then, we'll do a tour and tasting at nearby Village Winery. Lunch is included at Tuscarora Mill Restaurant in downtown Leesburg. Fee includes transportation, village tour, lunch & winery tour & tasting.
