Tucker Road Ice Rink Patrons and Friends:

Thank you to those of you who joined us at our last TRIR update meeting!

As promised, we have posted an online survey to gather your feedback. Please click http://www.pgparks.com/Open_Town_Hall to access the survey.

In addition to this information page, and occasional informational emails, we have added a Tucker Road Ice Rink project phone line.

If you have questions, contact Mr. Atuya Cornwell at 301-446-6816. Updates will be posted weekly so please check back  for additional information and the announcement of the next update meeting to be held in May/June.

Congratulations to the Ducks for their exciting 1st place win at the 2017 York Ice Arena Rec/In-house Tournament, March 10-12, in York, PA.  We are extremely proud of the Ducks and our coaches! Go Ducks!

Please join us for a community meeting regarding Tucker Road Ice Rink on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, 6:30-8 pm at the Southern Regional Technology & Recreation Complex where we will talk about our next steps.

Tucker Road Ice Rink Patrons and Friends:

The Tucker Road Ice Rink staff and M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation representatives met with various Ice Rink consultants to discuss temporary and long-term solutions. Preliminary recommendations will be forthcoming, with our goal of providing a temporary ice facility as soon as we possibly can.

We’re happy to report that the Tucker Road Ducks Youth Hockey Team have completed their regular season. We extend our many thanks to the area hockey teams that supported us in various ways over the past few weeks.

The TRIR Ducks are also excited that they will play in their first Hockey Tournament this week, March 10 - 12 in York, PA. GO DUCKS!!!!

Tucker Road Ice Rink Patrons and Friends:

We want to thank the Tucker Road Ice Rink community for coming out to the Community Meeting last night at Southern Regional Technology and Recreation Complex. The meeting was informative and gave us an opportunity to hear your concerns.

As we mentioned last night, we are in the process of gathering detailed information to make an informed decision that benefits the entire community.

Shortly, we will release a survey that will capture your individual concerns and wishes. We appreciate the time spent with us and we look forward to sharing our findings with you at our next meeting.

Just a reminder that we will be holding a community meeting where M-NCPPC staff will share the extent of the damage and detail our next steps as we move forward. All who are interested are invited.

The meeting will be held Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 6:30 pm at Southern Regional Technology and Recreation Complex located at 7007 Bock Road, Fort Washington, MD 20744.

Tucker Road Ice Rink Patrons and Friends:

On February 9 at 6:30 pm, we will be holding a Tucker Road Ice Rink Community Meeting at Southern Regional Technology and Recreation Complex.  The facility is located at 7007 Bock Road, Fort Washington, MD 20744.  

At that time, we will have the latest information regarding the future direction of the TRIR.  The Maryland National Capital Park & Planning Commission is committed to re-building the Tucker Road Ice Rink and we look forward to see you there.

Tucker Road Ice Rink Patrons and Friends:

For all Tucker Road Ice Rink Free Style Ice Skaters, you can use your passes two ways:

1. Request a full refund on any unused visits on your pass OR
2. To use your pass at Herbert Wells Ice Rink and Wheaton Ice Arena


If you choose to seek a refund, please contact the Park & Planning Help Desk at 301-699-2255 to begin the process. You should receive a check from the MNCPPC, Office of Finance within three to four weeks. Again, we appreciate your patience as we process the required refund documentation as quickly as possible.

Should you choose to use Herbert Wells Ice Rink, please call for Free-Style Skating hours.

In addition, there are several ice rinks in the area that have Free-style Skating hours. Your pass is not valid at these facilities. The contact information for area rinks is listed below:

We are also in the planning stages of having a TRIR Community Meeting in February, which will provide the latest updates regarding the facility.

Tucker Road Ice Rink Patrons and Friends:

The Tucker Road Ice Rink, an indoor rink in Ft. Washington owned and operated by The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission’s Department of Parks and Recreation, is closed due to a significant, 2-alarm fire that took place on Wednesday, January 4. Staff and customers got out of the building safely, with no injuries reported. All programs, classes and other activities at the facility are canceled due to the fire. However, we are allowing the use of existing Tucker Road Ice Rink passes at M-NCPPC’s Wells Ice Rink in College Park during this skating season.
