Ice and Easy Days 
Looking for something for your children to do when school is out?  Ice and Easy Days are a great way to spend the day.  Receive a beginner's ice skating lesson, play games, and have fun ice skating.  Skates will be provided.  Extended care (Before (7-9am) and/or After (4:30-6:30pm) Care) available.
Fees: Camp (per day), Resident $25; Non-resident $30.  Before Care (per day), $3.00.  After Care (per day) $3.00

PUBLIC SESSIONS

Fridays, 12 noon-2pm
Home School Ice Skating Session
Fee: Resident $4; Non-resident $5.  Skate rental included.

Super Saver Ice Skating Session
Fee: Resident $4; Non-resident $5.  Skate rental included.


Saturdays, 1-3 pm & 7-9 pm
General Ice Skate
Fee: Resident $5 adult ages 18 & up, $4/child ages 6-17; Non-Resident $6/adult ages 18 & up, $5/child ages 6-17; Skate rental $2


Sundays, 1-3 pm
Family Ice Skating Sessions
Up to 2 children admitted FREE (does not include skate rental) with a paying adult admission.
Fee: Resident $5 adult ages 18 & up, $4/child ages 6-17; Non-Resident $6/adult ages 18 & up, $5/child ages 6-17; Skate rental $2


Saturdays & Sundays, 1-3 pm
Bumper Cars on Ice
Solo riders must be ages 6 & up; riders ages 5 & under must ride with an adult. Last ride begins 10 minutes prior to the end of the session. Rides are on a first-come, first-served basis. Fees are based on 1 person per ride; each ride is 4-5 minutes in length.
Fee (per person, per ride): Resident $5/adult ages 18 & up, $4/child ages 6-17; Non-Resident $6/adult ages 18 & up, $5/child ages 6-17


FREESTYLE SESSIONS (FOR ADVANCED-LEVEL SKATERS)

HOCKEY SESSIONS

Sundays, 7-8:30 pm
Mondays, 8-9:30 pm
Tuesdays, 11:30 am-1 pm
Thursdays, 11:30 am-1 pm
Adult Pick-Up Hockey
Maximum of 30 skaters for each session. Full hockey equipment, which includes full-face mask or shield are required to play.
Ages 18 & up
Fee: Resident $9/person; Non-Resident $11/person; 1st 4 goalies FREE; Punch Pass Card (includes 10 admissions) - Call the ice rink for information about the Punch Pass program.

 


Courses

Register online via SMARTlink , by phone at 301-583-2665 (BOOK), or in person at any M-NCPPC facility or community center.

Our certified instructors are anxious to teach you to ice skate. We offer a variety of classes for all skill levels and age groups. On the first day of lessons, you will receive a practice card, good for 6 FREE admissions and skate rentals to practice during any public session. Skates are provided during the lessons.

Tucker Road Ice Rink has transitioned from Ice Skating Institute (ISI) Learn to Skate to United States Figure Skating (USFS) Basic Skills Program, see below for more details...

Sundays, March 3-April 7, 2013, 5:30-6:30 pm
Ice Skating: Competitive - 'Moves in the Field'
An introduction to the 'Moves in the Field' test track which will be a way to master the skills required to pass the test. 'Moves in the Field' is the backbone of competitive skating and necessary for advancement. NOTE:  The program is intended for skaters who have at least passed Alpha level.

Hockey Courses

Sundays, February 24-March 31, 2013, 9:00-9:45 am
Ice Hockey 101
Introduction to fundamental hockey skating techniques. Focus on forward skating, balance, turns, stops, and backward skating. Must be proficient in forward skating. Hockey equipment required by first class. Please call the ice rink for details.
