Big news from Herbert Wells Ice Rink!
Congratulations to Herbert Wells Ice Rink skaters for competing in this year’s Ice Skating Institute’s Conference Championships and placing 9th in Overall Team Points! The Championships were held on May 26-28 at the RDV Sportsplex Ice Den in Orlando, Florida.
The Conference Championships is one of six ISI national competitions this year, where skaters of all ages and skill levels are eligible to participate in dozens of individual, pair and group events. The ISI recreational ice skating program is based on “participations, not elimination.” More than 430 skaters representing 31 rink teams from 13 states competed in the event, with ages ranging from 1 to 76.
As far as group events, Herbert Wells Ice Rink Production Team earned 2nd place, and the Sparking Blades Synchro Team earned 3rd place. Individually, the skaters earned over 30 medals. Participating skaters in the Championships included Maggie Hayes, Dorothy Jahoda, Kayla Kirchknopf, Ella Lannon, Lucy Lannon, Alexandra Nickel, Olivia Nickel, Vivian Nickel, Sarah Rouff, and Hannah Wilson.
