General Information

Open for ice skating from October through March, the Herbert Wells Ice Rink features an indoor warming room, party room, and a snack bar. Rental skates are available. During the summer, the facility is used for roller and/or street hockey. Contact the facility for additional information about general skating sessions, lessons, hockey, and fees.

Location/Directions

Located in College Park, Maryland, convenient to the University of Maryland between Route 1 and Kenilworth Avenue. Accessible by Metro on the Green Line, College Park station. From the Capital Beltway (I-495), toward College Park, take Exit 23 South. This is Kenilworth Avenue (Route 201). Proceed for 1-1/2 miles and turn right onto Paint Branch Parkway. Turn left into the parking lot (across from the 94th Aero squadron).

From U.S. Route 1, turn onto Paint Branch Parkway at the intersection in front of the main entrance to the University of Maryland. At the third traffic light, turn right and then make an immediate left into the parking lot.
