Golf Instructors

PGA instructors offer private and group lessons, indoor teaching on the simulator and state-of-the-art video lessons for adults and juniors.

Ed Dolan , a PGA Professional, new to the staff, that brings over 19 years of player development experience; his teaching focuses on golf’s fundamentals and long-term game improvement. Since 2005, Golf Digest has consistently ranked Ed one of the “Best Teachers” in Maryland.

Dave Greene, a PGA Professional since 1997, is available for both individual and group lessons. Call 301-935-0330 for lesson information.

Chris Oleson , a PGA Professional that focuses on teaching you your swing. Chris has a wealth of knowledge about equipment, club fitting and club repair. Chris is TPI Certified, K-Vast Certified and a putting zone coach. He uses video, Explanar and many other learning aids to reach your goals.

2011 Clinic Schedule

Paint Branch is offering Beginner, Game Improvement and Ladies-only one-hour clinics for golfers who want to improve their skills. Students meet once a week for six weeks to work on a variety of skills, including full swing, short game, putting, equipment and etiquette. Video, Explanar and many other learning aids will be used to help golfers reach their best game. Subjects will rotate on a six-week cycle, so golfers can join at anytime to begin their six week program. Fee is $150.
Beginners
This clinic is designed for players starting the game and looking for a baseline. These players will have goals such as how to get started, getting comfortable at the golf course, learning how to swing, and which clubs are used for different shots.
Topics to be covered: Swing fundamentals (grip, set-up, posture), etiquette, chipping, putting, equipment evaluations and suggestions.

Available timeslots
  • Tuesdays: 10-11 am or 6-7 pm
  • Thursdays: 10-11 am or 7-8 pm
  • Sundays: 1-2 pm
Game Improvement
This clinic is designed for players who have some experience on the golf course.  These players will have goals such as playing better, learning how to score, making their swings more efficient, and hitting the ball farther and straighter.
Topics to be covered: Full Swing, distance, short game, putting, equipment and scoring.

Available timeslots
  • Thursdays: 11 am-12 noon or 6-7 pm
  • Sundays: 4-5 pm
Ladies Only
This clinic is designed for ladies of all skill levels.  These players will have goals such as feeling comfortable going to the golf course, achieving more distance, and understanding both equipment importance and swing theory.
Topics to be covered: Swing fundamentals (grip, set-up, posture), etiquette, chipping, putting, equipment evaluations and suggestions.

  • Tuesdays: 11 am-12 noon or 6-7 pm
  • Sundays: 3-4 pm

Leagues

The Paint Branch Golf Course offers both a men’s and ladies’ golf league. Nine-hole greens fees for each league are $14 for players under age 60 and $10 ages 60 & better. Please call the course for more information about both leagues.
Men’s League
Come out and enjoy the game of golf with the Paint Branch Men’s Golf League.    The league is open to men ages 50 & up and meets every Monday at 9 am ending in September. Cost of joining is $25/year. League play features various formats of play, such as Captain’s Choice and best ball, as well as regular rounds of golf.
Ladies’ League
The Paint Branch Ladies’ Golf League is a great way for women of all ages to get out and enjoy a round of golf together. The league meets every Thursday at 9 am during the golf season and runs through October 28.  Cost of joining is $15/year.
