About the ComplexThis facility is dedicated in the memory of Theresa Douglas Banks (1905-1972). Ms. Banks was a committed educator, community activist and dedicated welfare worker. She was the first female member of the Glenarden Town Council and served as Town Clerk for many years. She was also a teacher at Highland Park Elementary School. Ms. Banks helped to establish a branch of the county's public library system in Fairmont Heights. She was inducted into the Prince George's County Women's Hall of Fame in 1988. A portrait of her hangs near the entrance to the pool.
A year-round indoor pool, Theresa Banks Memorial Aquatics Center is accessed through the adjacent Glenarden Community Center. Most recently, it was renovated in 2012. This facility's amenities include 20-yard lap lanes, a spa/hot tub, an outdoor patio area with Funbrellas and shower/changing facilities with lockers.

Fall/Winter/Spring Schedule (Beginning September 2, 2014)
NOTE: Pool will be closed Sunday, November 23-Sunday, December 7 for its indoor pool maintenance. The pool will re-open on Monday, December 8. During this period, the facility will remain open from 9 am-5 pm on Monday-Friday for customer questions, phone calls, and course registrations.
*Pools are cleared 15 minutes PRIOR to all closing times.

Location/DirectionsThis complex is located in Glenarden, Maryland, near the Glenarden Municipal Center off of Martin Luther King, Jr. Highway and McLain Avenue. It is accessible by Metro on the Orange Line/New Carrollton station. From the Capital Beltway (I-495), take Exit 17B (Landover Road, Route 202) toward Washington, D.C. Make a right at the first light onto Brightseat Road. Make a left at the second traffic light onto Glenarden Parkway (Library at corner). Continue on Glenarden Parkway and make a left onto McLain Avenue. Complex is on the right.
