7th Annual Maryland Senior Idol Winner: Irving Haywood
Irving Haywood from Prince George's County won over the crowd and the judges on April 3 at the Maryland Senior Idol with his performance of "Change is Going to Come" and was crowned the 2013 Maryland Senior Idol. Sixteen contestants representing nine of the Maryland Counties competed at the 7th Annual Maryland Senior Idol contest to a sold out crowd of 700 audience members. Charlene Haupt from Harford County took 2nd place by singing "Cheek to Cheek". The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George's County hosted this year's contest at the Bowie Center for the Performing Arts.
