Since opening in January 2012, seniors are invited to participate in a variety of classes, special events, day trips, clubs and social activities at this new senior activity center. The center has recently been renovated and updated to meet the needs of seniors and includes a new fitness room, a new billiards room, a creative arts room, a classroom for a variety of learning opportunities, a social room and a gymnasium. Stop by and check out our new senior activity center and join in the fun! The Food and Friendship Program, operated by the Prince George’s County Department of Family Service's Aging Services Division, offers a nutritionally balanced lunch daily at this center. The senior activity center is located in Capitol Heights, Maryland. From the Capital Beltway (I-495), go South toward Richmond, Virginia. Take the Pennsylvania Ave. exit going towards Washington DC. Go approximately 2-3 miles and take a right turn onto Alton St. Go one block and turn right onto Shell Street. As you enter the parking lot turn right toward the Community and Senior Activity Center parking lot. Parking and entrance to the center are on the right side of the building.
