Home-School Science Clubs

Watkins Nature Center offers Home-School Science Clubs for ages 5-14. These clubs meet once a month during September-December and February-May. On the scheduled class dates, participants explore various nature topics through hikes, hands-on activities, and presentations. Registration is available only through SMARTlink, and usually begins one month prior to the first date of class. For information on how to set up a SMARTlink account please call Watkins Nature Center at 301-218-6702.

Nature Friends (Ages 5-6), Thursdays, 10-11 am 

  • February 7 - Exploring Camouflage
  • March 7 - Hungry Herbivores
  • April 11 - Wonderful Web of Life 
  • May 9 - Sinking Into Soil
