Camping

roasting marshmellowsThe Jug Bay Natural Area offers primitive tent camping for groups, no RV's or tent trailers. There are five sites in the group camp area and one site near the river (canoe campsite). The group camp area and canoe campsite are open year round. Indoor, accessible restroom facilities are located near the barn. The area also has a pavilion that is shared by all campers. The barn is available for use during inclement weather.

Each site has three picnic tables and a fire ring. Some firewood is provided. Drinking water is available from the well house, which also has a locked storage room containing barbeque grills, an emergency telephone, softball equipment, volleyball and horseshoes. A volleyball net, basketball hoop and horseshoe pits are in place.

The canoe campsite is available for groups of 20 or fewer. There are two portable toilets on site but no drinking water. Water is available at the well house located at the group camp area. Canoes and kayaks can be launched from a floating pier. You may bring your own canoes/kayaks or rent them from the park.

All camping is by reservation and payment is due at that time. A combination lock is used to secure all entrance gates. The combination is issued at the time the reservation is made.
