Specialized Nature ProgramsThe Clearwater Nature Center staff and volunteers provide a wide variety of seasonal and year-round interpretive nature programs to the public both at our facility and at off-site locations.
Groups of 10 or more people may arrange for private naturalist-conducted, nature-themed programs. For groups with fewer than 10 people, please check out Clearwater's Programs & Events schedule. Nominal fees and/or group rates apply for programs.
Live Animal ShowsCome meet some of the nature center's resident animals including reptiles, amphibians, and birds of prey. See also, Community Outreach program information below for animal shows held at your location.
Scout Badge WorkshopsDoes your scout troop need assistance in fulfilling requirements for nature related scout badges? Maybe we can help. Clearwater Nature Center can assist scout troops in fulfilling some of the requirements for nature related scout badges. Fees for these programs vary depending on the length of the scheduled program. For details on setting up a badge program for your group, call the nature center.
Teen Volunteer Program
Clearwater Nature Center provides seasonal volunteer opportunities to teens in need of service learning hours. This is a very popular program and space is limited. Teens must be 13 years of age (or older) by the start of the Orientation training class. To guarantee a spot in the program, teens must register for the desired Orientation Training session via SMARTlink. Drop-ins (no registration) is not be permitted.
After registering, applications are required to be filled out and turned in to the nature center at least 2 weeks before the orientation date. Applications can be picked up at the nature center during normal business hours (Mondays-Saturdays: 8:30 am-5 pm; Sundays: 11 am-4 pm). All volunteers will be fingerprinted.
For additional information regarding our Teen Volunteer Program, please contact Park Naturalist Beth Wisotzkey.

Community Outreach Programs
Is your group unable to arrange transportation to come visit us at the nature center? Why not have us come to you! Clearwater Nature Center offers several curriculum-based nature programs for schools and/or community groups that can be presented at your location (sorry, we are unable to come out to private home settings). We are able to customize many of our programs to fit your needs if necessary. Minimum is 25 people. Fee: Resident $3/person, Non-Resident $4/person.
We also offer Live Animal Shows for large groups. Group Rate Fees (minimum of 125 people) can be arranged.
If you wish to special request the Bald Eagle in a presentation an additional $50 fee will be applied. Please be aware that inclusion of the bald eagle in any presentation cannot always be guaranteed for a variety of reasons, but most especially during hot weather as we do not want to risk his health and safety.
Please call at least two weeks in advance to schedule outreach programs.
