History

Built in 1923, this one of a kind facility in Prince George's County was designed by architect Donald Ross. Originally known as the Beaver Dam Golf and Country Club, this former clubhouse and 27-hole golf course attracted renowned golfers such as Arnold Palmer, Ben Hogan, and Jack Nicklaus; in 1949, the club hosted the U.S. Women's Open Championship.

In 1979, The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission acquired the country club and renamed it the Prince George's Ballroom. This stately building underwent major renovations that have transformed it into one of the most distinguished facilities in Prince George's County.
