SMARTlink, a program used by M-NCPPC’s Department of Parks and Recreation, allows patrons to register for classes and activities via computer (with Internet access) 24 hours a day. This program is fast, efficient, secure and convenient. Customers can receive immediate confirmation that they’ve gotten into a class, or they may put their names on a waiting list when a class is full. Using the SMARTlink system allows payment for classes to be made by credit card, by debit card, or by putting money into a SMARTlink account.

Before you can use SMARTlink, you must set up your account(s) in person. Each family member needs to be registered as a SMARTlink customer. To set up an account, go to any M-NCPPC community center or area office in Prince George’s County and bring documentation with proof of residency, age, and identity for each family member who wishes to become a client. Staff will then set up your SMARTlink account and you will be assigned barcodes and family PIN.

  1. Register over the Internet. Just click on the SMARTlink logo wherever you see it. Make sure to have your customer barcode/login ID and family PIN handy.
    • Select your desired language and click on the Your Account tab.
    • Log in using your barcode/login ID and family PIN.
    • Click on the Browse tab.  Search for the course of your choice by entering a specific course number under "Find a specific activity by course number", selecting one of the program type links, or using the Advanced Search feature.
    • Click on a course barcode to view additional details.
    • When you're ready to commit, select the family member from the dropdown menu and click Register.  (Choose to schedule payments using the checkbox if you desire.)
    • Follow the directions to make payment by Visa or Mastercard.
  2. Register in person. Drop by any of our staffed Department of Parks and Recreation facilities during regular business hours and our friendly Parks and Recreation staff will take your registration and payment. Do not attempt to register at school sites.
  • Some classes fill quickly; register early.
  • Payment is due at the time of registration.
  • A separate form must be completed for each person/class.
  • Registration for county residents begins one week earlier than the registration period for non-residents. This provides a benefit for Prince George's County residents who support activities through their taxes.
  • The Prince George's Sports & Learning Complex has a priority registration period for Impact Area residents living in a predefined area surrounding FedEx Field. To receive the benefit of early registration, Impact Area residents must register in person at that facility only.
SMARTlink activities are sorted first by category and then by age group. Once you pick your activity category, you may browse the following age groups.

  • Pre-Schoolers: children ages 5 & under
  • Children & Youth: ages 6-12
  • Teens & Pre-teens: ages 10-17
  • Adults & Young Adults: ages 13 & up
  • Seniors: ages 60 & up
  • Mixed Ages: a mixture of age groups (ex: ages 4-6 or 8 & up)
