PLEASE NOTE: Effective February 1st, 2013, clients reserving a rental building by phone must confirm rental agreements using electronic signature via email. Clients must have access to email during the reservation phone call as the agreement will be emailed for signature at the same time. Rental agreements will not be finalized until the emailed document is verified and electronically signed by the client.

Permits are needed to use many M-NCPPC recreation facilities in Prince George's County. Permits for the Adelphi Mill, bandwagon, garden plots, open shelters, recreation centers (air conditioned/heated), and regional parks are issued by the Park Permit Office. For information and availability regarding these facilities contact the Park Permit Office. All fees and deposits are subject to change. All rentals made through the Park Permits Office must be paid in full at the time of reservation.

In order to rent a park shelter or recreation building, the renter must first become a verified SMARTlink Customer and provide valid proof of residency, age and ID. Click here for more information on becoming a SMARTlink customer!

M-NCPPC recreation buildings (sometimes called recreation centers) are different than community centers. Recreation buildings are unstaffed and are located within neighborhood parks. They are suitable sites for birthday parties, bridal showers, and other family or community events.

Most recreation buildings have picnic areas adjacent to the buildings and these areas are included in the rental permit. When having a daytime picnic the capacity is 100 people (inside/outside combined) and 7pm is the latest a group can stay outside. Picnic areas have picnic tables and grills but renters may bring a portable grill into the picnic area. (Please note that the Suitland Water Tank does not have an adjacent picnic area.)

Recreation buildings may be reserved for one, nine-hour period per day. The rental block includes event time as well as set up, decorating, and cleanup. M-NCPPC tries to maintain 10 tables and 50 chairs in the recreation buildings; however, this is not guaranteed. It is up to the renter to provide set-up and take-down of tables and chairs. The maximum capacity for the buildings is provided by the fire marshal and is not to be exceeded.

All recreation buildings and Adelphi Mill will require a $200 deposit (cash or Visa/Mastercard) that will cover security requirements of the rental policies, building upkeep, and key pickup/return.  Renters must be a Prince George's or Montgomery County resident and over 21 years old to reserve a site. Late Fee Policies (effective 5/1/2010):

  • $25 change fee will be charged for paid reservations that switch to another location or move to another date (must be requested 30 days before event date).
  • $25 late fee will be charged for Friday key and permit pick-ups

Note: The entryway to Jesse J. Warr Jr. Neighborhood Park (Englewood Avenue) is undergoing construction. Parking spaces will be limited. Guests should park on N.
