Watkins amassed his photographs during his more than 35 years as a professional traveling the world as a photographer for Ebony, Jet, ABC News, Fox News, Life, Time and People magazines. He has been on the front-line of photojournalists traveling on Air Force One as he held the distinction of being the sole African American photographer to capture images of every U.S. president from H.W. Bush to Donald Trump. He also photographed South African President Nelson Mandela, during his first tour of the United States, after being imprisoned for 27 years. Harmony Hall Arts Center will exhibit Mr. Watkins private collection – some of which will be on view for the first time. |
